Rachel Herman, DVM

Dr. Rachel Herman is an Eastern Pennsylvania native and lifelong equestrian. She has a particular passion for Thoroughbreds, and competed her own OTTB, The Punisher, in dressage, eventing and jumpers.

A graduate of Delaware Valley University in with a bachelor’s degree in biology, Dr. Herman worked as a veterinary assistant and a riding instructor before entering vet school, honing her skills with both small animals and equines. During her education at Lincoln Memorial University – College of Veterinary Medicine Dr. Herman completed rotations at some of the most prestigious equine hospitals in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Lexington, Kentucky.

After graduating, Dr. Herman went straight to work as a veterinarian working exclusively with Thoroughbred racehorses in Florida and Maryland, gaining experience treating some of the top equine athletes in the country. She has a special interest in sports medicine and a love for helping horses feel their best, and she looks forward to applying her skills in treating racehorses to the performance horse industry.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, snuggling her dog and cat, and riding her current OTTB, Being Perfect.
